Someday
by Steven Clotzman

Someday you will kiss me like you know you should
And we’ll know the thrill that comes with something oh so good
And so until that day

Someday we will make for us a brand new start
And you’ll lose the chill that’s running through your restless heart
And so until that day

I’m deep in this fix, my mind’s playing tricks
It’s like my winter can find the spring
I raise this glass high, here’s mud in your eye
I can’t believe you’d do this for a fancy ring

Someday you will bid to him that fond adieu
And I’ll be here still waiting on the real you
And so until that day

Someday you will realize I’m a novel find
And like old Melville, we’ll have a whale of a time
And so until that day

I know you’re tied up but that goodbye was abrupt
And I’m longing for our time before
I do what I can but don’t understand
How everything that was isn’t anymore

Someday we will look back on these days and laugh
It’s wrong to kill but what choice did I really have
And so until that day
