Raining below
by Steven Clotzman

It’s raining below but why I don’t know
It’s not like I’ve ever been a part of it
So what does it mean to be caught in this scene?
I still can’t get through to the heart of it.
You said the sky was the limit
And all the world is a stage
That seems fine if you’re in it
With nothing to cling to but clichés
I can’t wait to hear your reasons
When you tell me how or why
‘Cause it’s raining below and why I don’t know
Every since you said goodbye

Maybe it’s wrong to deny I belong
To something as strong as what takes me
‘Cause now that we’re done, you are the one
Calling the shots that still shake me
They tell me each path has its distance
And I’ll know when I’ve reached the end
But in this one very instance
I just can’t seem to, my friend
You said we make our own purpose
And you’re quite convinced I should try
But it’s raining below and why I don’t know
Ever since you said goodbye

You said we make our own purpose
I’m really just too tired to try
‘Cause it’s raining below and why I don’t know
Ever since you said goodbye
