Peace in our time
by Steven Clotzman

The sky’s turning black, the ocean’s a roar,
The streets of the city are empty and what’s more.
Better get some shelter, but stay away from mine,
The man on the news says it’s peace in our time.
Oh mama, peace in our time.
Oh mama, it’s peace in our time.
Better get some shelter, but stay away from mine,
The man on the TV says it’s peace in our time.

I can feel the earth shaking, there’s fear in my bones.
I think this might be it, just you and me alone.
Tell me that you love me and things will be fine.
But please say a thing about peace in our time
Oh mama, peace in our time.
Oh mama, it’s peace in our time.
Tell me that you love me and things will be fine.
But don’t you say a word about peace in our time.

Everyone’s celebrating around the thundering sounds,
They’re drinking and they’re laughing all underground.
Even white men and black men are mixing up their rhymes,
Everyone so thrilled about peace in our time.
Oh mama, peace in our time.
Oh mama, it’s peace in our time.
The black and the white finally mixing up their rhymes,
Everyone so grateful for peace in our time
