Not enough for you
by Steven Clotzman

Look away if you see me on the street
Or if we just happen to meet outside the bar
It’s hard to say if it’s any easier alone
But at least the harm’s my own when we’re apart
After all that we’ve been through
That’s just not enough or you

Late at night with the music in my ears
I hear what I want to hear and with no doubt
It’s not right when the phone begins to ring
And you say that other thing, it just didn’t work out
So tonight these kisses they might do
But that’s just not enough for you

If you find the time to open up your eyes
You might be a bit surprised by what you see
And in time, I’ve realized that I will never be as strong as I hope to be

Here we are aiming in the dark
Both missing the mark with every touch
‘Cause counting stars as they shoot across the sky
Without understanding why is just too much
And now the turning of the screw
But that’s just not enough for you

If you find the time to open up your eyes
You might be a bit surprised by what you see
'Cause in time, I’ve realized that I will never be as strong as I hope to be

So sing along while I play with these words
And my mind is such a blur I have to laugh
It’s a song about a girl who’s heaven-sent
And the boy who’s so hell-bent on her behalf
And that’s the best that he can do
And still they make their dreams come true
But that’s just -not enough for you
