Come all ye faithful servants

Come all ye faithful servants. . .
Come all ye faithful servants. . .

I remember when the dream came tumbling down
T’was another time not so defined by what I’ve still not found
We were waiting for the list of names to sound
When before our eyes, to much surprise, a man stripped off his cap and gown
He said come all, come all ye faithful servants
Rise and shine to a new day
Come all ye faithful servants unproven or unborn
The voices in your head tonight, they should not be forlorn

We stood at ease and watched the bands parade
They marched around the open grounds longing for the shade
And through all the heartfelt speeches that were made
I felt the burn when all you’ve learned quickly starts to fade
They said, come all, come all ye faithful servants
Rise and shine to a new day
Come all ye faithful servants denied an unfair bet
These things that I have dwelled upon have still not freed me yet

So many times I hoped I they might choose me
Even when I take my time, it still just seems to lose me

I haven’t always done the best I can
And I admit to suffering fits of wondering who I am
And despite the things I’ll never understand
I always feel the burning zeal of trying to give a damn
Now come all, come all ye faithful servants
Rise and shine to a new day
Come all ye faithful servants deliver me from fear
The city walls have just breached and there’s way out of here

Come all ye faithful servants. . .
Come all ye faithful servants. . .
Come all ye faithful servants deliver me with haste
The things that you’ve been counting on are about to be laid waste
