Chase my blues away

Take the pennies from pocket
I won’t be needing them no more
Take the van, go out and go hock it
Give the proceeds to the poor
In a land of milk and honey
Each starry night should have its day
But it’s worth no amount of money
When you chase my blues away

Wish this dog would his barking
So maybe I could get some sleep
But they say life has all the markings
Of the company we keep
You know I lost that four leave clover
But my luck’s been just the same
‘Cause my cup it runneth over
When you chase my blues away

If I’ve got to pay my dues
In these worn out shoes, okay
But there’s no time to lose
When you chase these blues away

Every song had its beginning
When the future seems so bright
But by the seventh or eighth inning
I can tell if it feels right
I’m struggling hard find an ending
That doesn’t find me in the way
But there’s no need for this pretending
When you chase my blues away

If I’ve got to pay my dues
In these worn out shoes, okay
But there’s no time to lose
When you chase these blues away. . .
When you chase these blues away. . .
When you chase these blues away. .
